Armenian lie about political prisoners

siyasi mehbusArmenian government said publicly to world that, there is no freedom of speech, freedom of the press in Azerbaijan and the number of political prisoners is increasing day by day. But, Armenia is observing all norms of international law; there is no political prisoner in the country?
Is it really so?
The meeting was held in Trokardo square of Paris on 9 September, 2014. This protest meeting organized by “Armenian revival” movement showed that Armenian government’s words are not true. Participants of this meeting stated that this meeting was held because of to support Shant Harutyunyan, Volodya Avestisyan and his friends and to object unfair trial process.

But it is strange that, Armenian President Serzh Sargsyan denies these facts. After his speech in Columbia University of New York on 11 November, 2014, one of participants reminded him the number of political prisoners.

He said: “It’s a lie, I ask for you don’t interrupt me, you have incorrect information, and there is no political prisoner in Armenia”.
When another participant sounded the name of Shant Sarkissian Harutyunyan, Sargsyan said: “He committed a crime. If someone is bullying in America, will he not get punishment? ”
At that time we remember the proverb: “As if a burglar breaks into your home and you shoot him, he can sue you. For what, restraint of trade?”

Well, paron (means sir in Armenian) Sergzh, if there are no political prisoners in Armenia, and have freedom of speech and press, why did you close “A 1 plus” channel, “Chorrad Ishanutyun” ( The fourth power) newspaper?

Let’s put them aside. Serzh Sargsyan! What will you say about the speech of Nicole Pasinyan, a member of the Armenian National Congress, a former political prisoner and MP of Armenian Parliament?

N. Pashinyan said about imprisonment of 11 people as a political prisoners at a meeting of Armenian Azqayin Jogovunun (Armenian parliament is so called) on the case of Shant Harutyunyan, suggested holding audition on this issue to the chairman of the Human Rights Comission Elinar Vardanyan on16 November, 2014. Pashinyan said: “We know that, there are people who committed crime but they were not imprisoned and they hold high-ranking posts.”
If Armenian president wants proof, there is no good evidence fact than this.

Armenian president refutes it, but it is impossible to close the eyes of the people. This fact proves that there is no freedom of speech and free-minded people are persecuted in Armenia.
