Azerbaijanian officer Ramil Safarov was pardoned!!!

1347697062_binbasi-ramil-seferovAzerbaijani officer Ramil Safarov convicted earlier in Hungary was extradited to his home country in 31 August, 2012 and shortly thereafter he was pardoned by an order of President Ilham Aliyev.
Safarov, 35, was handed down a life sentence without the right to a parole for 30 years on charges of killing Armenian serviceman Gurgen Markaryan, who insulted the Azerbaijani flag during a NATO course in Budapest. The Azerbaijani public condemned the Hungarian court’s harsh sentence, which was pronounced in April 2006 after a lengthy trial.

At the Baku airport he was welcomed by senior Justice Ministry officials, journalists and family members. The presidential order was read out to Safarov.

Speaking to journalists, he said: “I’m happy to have returned to Azerbaijan. Sometimes a man faces such moments in his life which are impossible to express in words. First and foremost, on behalf of my family members and myself, I express my deepest and sincere gratitude to the President, Supreme Commander-in-Chief Ilham Aliyev for his humane move, for his signing the order toend my imprisonment.”

Safarov noted that he hasn’t yet made a specific decision on his future activities, but did not rule out further military service.

After some days, Safarov was given major rank by the Azerbaijan Republic Defence Ministry. Then, he was rewarded with 45000 AZN and home.

About Ramil Safarov


Safarov Ramil Sahib was born in Jabrail in 1977.

He entered the military inclinationed school named after of Camshid Nakhcivanski in 1991.

R.Safarov was sent to Izmir the city of the Turkey Republic for to continue his education by the order of Azerbaijan Republic Defence Ministry in september in 1992.

He succesfully gratuated the military lisey of Maltepé entered Ankara Higher Military school and studied military training courses.

From May of 2001 to March of 2002 employed at military settlment number N in Gadabay as commander by the order of DM.

By the order DM he was sent to the Higher Military School of Commanders named after Heydar Aliyev in March 2002.

During employe time developed up to the rank of main leytenant. Ramil Safarov was sent on a mission for three monthly English language courses to Hungary Republic city of Budapest in notation NATO programs by the order of the DM in january 2004.

He killed armenian oficcer Q.Markaryan who took part in the same course in 19-th of February-left onlu 20 days for to come back motherland. In the same date he was arrested.
